Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-21
This Privacy Policy explains how Valyu Reports for Slack ("the App") handles information when it is installed in a Slack workspace and used to configure, generate, preview, or deliver research reports.
"Slack Data" means Slack content and metadata the App receives through Slack APIs or through user interactions with the App.
Information We Process
- Slack workspace, channel, user, and installation identifiers needed to install the App and deliver messages.
- Limited Slack profile information needed for permissions and scheduling, such as admin status and timezone.
- Slack commands, App Home actions, app mentions, direct messages, and subscribed thread messages sent to the App.
- Report settings you provide, including query, title, destination, schedule, timezone, mode, and delivery type.
- Valyu API keys configured for the workspace.
- Research task identifiers, task status, generated report content, and report files needed for delivery or retry.
- Operational metadata, such as timestamps, delivery status, error status, and message/file delivery results.
How We Use Information
- To verify Slack requests, install the App, and maintain workspace-specific configuration.
- To confirm that only authorized Slack users can manage reports and workspace API keys.
- To run requested research, generate previews and reports, and deliver messages or files to configured Slack destinations.
- To respond when users mention or message the App.
- To maintain scheduling, retry, support, security, and reliability state.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent Slack Data, use Slack Data for advertising, use Slack Data for training, or share one workspace's Slack Data with another workspace.
- Slack receives messages and files the App sends to your selected Slack destinations.
- Valyu receives the research queries and related settings needed to generate requested reports and previews.
- Service providers process information only as needed for hosting, storage, monitoring, delivery, and App operations.
Storage and Retention
- Workspace report configuration is retained until deleted by an authorized workspace user, uninstall, or deletion request.
- Valyu API keys are encrypted at rest before storage.
- Queued task metadata is retained for up to 24 hours and stale task metadata is discarded earlier.
- Generated reports staged for scheduled delivery are retained for up to 24 hours or until delivery or deletion.
- Operational logs may retain limited metadata needed for debugging, security, and reliability.
Your Controls
Slack workspace owners and administrators control workspace membership, channel access, Slack message retention, and Slack file retention. The App cannot remove copies already delivered into Slack if your workspace retains them.
- Authorized workspace users can pause, resume, or delete reports from App Home.
- Deleting a report removes its configuration and queued or staged delivery state from the App.
- You can uninstall the App from Slack at any time.
- You can request deletion of associated App data by contacting us. We delete associated App data within 14 business days unless retention is required by law, security, or dispute handling.
